Are you a proactive self-starter with the passion and drive to help support our clients?
CHOICES is a registered charity delivering trauma-informed long-term counselling and other therapeutic support to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
We are looking for an empathetic, client-centred mental health recovery worker to support clients on the CHOICES counselling waiting list to access other services in the community that might best meet their needs while waiting for counselling. In addition, support those who either end their counselling early through an inability to attend/stay connected, or who have come to the end of their counselling contract and are asking “What now?”
Home-based but with travel throughout Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, the ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the various Cambridgeshire and Peterborough mental health charities and statutory services. The candidate must be able to assess clients for their mental health needs, sensitively taking into account the impact of their early childhood trauma. The post-holder must be able to recognise risk factors and help the survivor with emergency plans if necessary. They must be confident to refer the client to other services if appropriate.
This is a job share with the other person currently in post. They will work closely with the small staff team to ensure that the clients receive the best possible treatment pathway for them.
The postholder may initiate additional services to meet clients’ needs based on client feedback and observation.
We are an equal opportunity employer.
